工程中心

华中科技大学激光加工国家工程研究中心是国家工程研究中心建设计划项目之一，是国家利用世界银行贷款科技发展项目中的子项目。1994年1月，国家计委以“计科计（1994）29号文”，同意以华中科技大学为依托建设激光加工国家工程研究中心，1995年7月国家计委以“计科技（1995）993号文”，下发了关于激光加工国家工程研究中心可行性研究报告的批复，2003年11月30日通过国家发改委组织的专家验收。
    国家计委、世界银行对工程研究中心建设的要求，激光加工国家工程研究中心1997年进行转制，建立武汉华工激光工程有限责任公司，该公司是华工科技产业股份公司（国内第一家以激光为主业的上市公司）的子公司。目前，激光加工国家工程研究中心采用“一个中心，两个基地”的运行模式，一个工程中心，一个研发基地，一个产业化基地。研发基地设在华中科技大学、产业化基地设在华工激光公司。
    工程中心现有员工300余人，其中博士、硕士占45％，中国激光界资深专家、教授24人，已与美国、德国、澳大利亚、日本、英国、新加坡、香港等国家和地区的著名研究机构和企业建立起紧密的合作关系；拥有科研、开发和中试生产用房地产23000米，仪器设备1000余台。
    激光加工国家工程研究中心于2012年4月在鞍山设立分中心，服务当地经济发展与产业升级。

鞍山中心主要职能：

1、激光技术创新研究与成果转化；

2、激光加工技术的推广；

3、激光加工工艺的人才培养；

4、与当地的交流平台和形象展示。

5、激光精密微细加工装备核心器件与工艺研发平台、激光有色金属加工装备研发平台、激光成套设备示范与应用研发平台、激光加工用光学与光纤器件研发与测试平台、激光器件与装备设计、仿真平台等。

Engineering Center

HUST National Engineering Research Center for Laser Processing is one of the planned construction projects of the National Engineering Research Center and the sub project of national science and technology development projects with the world bank loan. State Development Planning Commission agreed to construct the National Engineering Research Center for Laser Processing relying on Huazhong University of Science and Technology in January 1994 and issued a approval on the feasibility study report on the National Engineering Research Center for Laser in July 1995. The project has passed the acceptance by the National Development and Reform Commission on November 30, 2003.he national development and Reform Commission acceptance by experts group.

The State Planning Commission, asked the world bank to the Construction Engineering Research Center, National Engineering Research Center for laser machining in 1997 restructuring, the establishment of Wuhan Huagong Laser Engineering Co., Ltd is a tech Company Ltd. (the first domestic laser industry in listed companies) subsidiary. Currently, National Engineering Research Center for laser machining the "one center and two base operation mode", an engineering center, a research base, an industrial base. R & D base is located in the Huazhong University of Science and Technology, industrial base in HGLASER company.

The engineering center of more than 300 employees, including doctors, masters accounted for 45%, Chinese laser industry experts, 24 professors, has been with the United States, Germany, Australia, Japan, Britain, Singapore, the famous research institutions and enterprises in Hongkong and other countries and regions to establish a close cooperative relationship with scientific research, production test; real estate development and 23000 meters, equipment more than 1000 units.

Laser processing National Engineering Research Center in April 2012 set up a branch in Anshan to serve the local economic development and industrial upgrading

Main functions of the Anshan center:

1, laser technology innovation research and achievements transformation;

2, the promotion of laser processing technology;

3, personnel training of laser processing technology ;

4, with the local exchange platform and image display

5, r&d platform of precision laser micromachining core device and technology, r&d platform of laser nonferrous metal processing equipment, laser equipment demonstration and application development platform,  development and testing platform of laser processing using optical fiber devices, laser devices and equipment design and simulation platform.
